Rangers TV. Standards inside the stadium can be up to 5 star as regards catering , in general this stadium set the benchmark UK wide ,When the rest of British clubs were required to catch up , they came to see Ibrox! The 'Old Lady of Edmiston Drive' is a truly great footballing arena.
The beautiful red brick facade of the Main Stand is instantly recognisable, and the marble staircase that greets you as you go throught the front doors is stunning. Compared to this Celtic park looks like a building site. Good atmosphere. The "old lady" is a very special place - always enjoy my visits whether a match day or not. If you ever get the chance to go never decline you will never forget the experience.
Top class stadium, masterpiece and the atmosphere is hard to beat anywhere. GO GO man utd. Top Stadium. Couldn't beleive any Scottish club had this standard of stadium, inside and out, including the inner concourses. Bowled over by incredible atmosphere. Better than all English Premiership stadiums other than Old Trafford. Ibrox was re-built in the late 70s-early 80s. Great stadium, main stand is a work of art, not many stadiums in this class with better main stand, hampden park is too far away from pitch and celtic park is cheap and ugly and the roof does not cover all the fans, no good for our whether conditions.
Expansion is part of a wider refurbishment of the surrounding area and stadium. Not to mention the reiterations of a match day improvements for fans. Dave King spoke positively of refurbishment plans for the th Anniversary Celebrations. Dave King has been ambitious with plans to refurbish the inside and outside of Ibrox. Could Rangers build another tier on the Sandy Jardine Stand? The best point of comparison is at home with Aberdeen and Hearts. Both clubs are smaller than Rangers but have supplied major investment into their stadia in recent years.
Ann Budge helped successfully deliver the new Main Stand at Tynecastle with minimal debts. We have a bigger support, we have higher earning potential, and as far as attendances are concerned we have larger room to grow. How much would it cost? Well that depends on the development and it is largely not for me to say, but if the club is ambitious it has to be considering this. Without howling Sevco, the main argument against is finance.
Do Rangers have the money for a major stadium redevelopment? If the choice in the short term is a bigger stadium or success on the pitch, the answer is obvious. Getting back to the top of Scottish football comes first. Any expansion is just a small part of that. Money, which is more difficult to come by for us than others, is better spent elsewhere at present.
Rangers pools anyone?
